TinyLily
Tiny Washable Circuits for e-Textiles
For all your tiny e-textile (or just general electronics) needs, the TinyCircuits TinyLily family is an extremely compact and low cost way to add intelligence to your projects. Inspired by the popular Lilypad Arduino, the TinyLily family allows your projects to shrink considerably, allowing you greater creativity in what you can do – yet still has all the power of a standard LilyPad Arduino at 1/12th the size!
Each module in the TinyLily family has been optimized to include only the core circuits for it’s specific function to keep the size as low as possible at the best possible price. We have chosen components that are the smallest in their class, to enable you to put electronics in places not possible before now.
All of the TinyLily boards have been designed to allow their use in e-textile designs and can be gently washed. In a number of cases, special components have been sourced (such as for switches and buzzers) to guarantee wash-ability of your final design.
Being so small, you’d think you need to be an expert with a soldering iron to use these things, right? Not at all! We designed these boards to be extremely easy to be used by hobbyists to embed into your projects. All of the TinyLily products offer large sewtabs with generous soldering area to allow for easy soldering, and the sewtabs are large enough for standard conductive thread and needles to be used (1.2mm diameter holes).
Since each board has been optimized to exactly the amount of circuitry needed for it’s particular function – you don’t have to pay for circuitry that you are not using. Each of the TinyLily boards have been specifically design to use high quality yet low cost components, to keep the final price to you as low as possible.
TinyCircuits proudly supports open source hardware and have released
all the design files for the TinyLily on our website. If you have a great idea for a TinyLily Peripheral or similar Tiny project, you are free to design your own board derived from our design files. Alternatively, if you have a great idea for a board that everyone will love, let us know and you could get some Free Stuff!
